Radio Ministry Survey
The Accountable Leadership Team is considering the future of the radio ministry program. To get a better understanding of what our listeners and the congregation would like for this ministry, we are asking people to complete a simple survey. You may download and print the Radio Ministry Survey.
Currently the worship service is broadcast on AM1590 each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Because our worship service begins at 10:00 a.m., the radio station records the worship service each week, edits the recording to fit the 1-hour time slot, and airs the recording the following week.
The broadcast expense does not come out of the general fund because sponsors cover the cost each week. Sponsorship is $65 each Sunday, basically the same as it has been since 1977 when we started. The broadcast is occasionally preempted for college or professional athletic events, and we do not pay for those days.
This survey will also be sent out with the October Parish Visitor newsletter. It is intended to be anonymous. We appreciate your comments. Please return the survey to the church office by November 1. Thank you!
Welcome Pastor Erika!
Beginning in July, we welcome Rev. Erika Jezael Martinez-Flores as our new pastor! She was born in Mexico City and has been serving the Viroqua and Westby congregations since 2019.
Her husband, Jorge, who is also a pastor, will be serving the Shullsburg and Lamont United Methodist Churches. They will be living in the parsonage in Lancaster.
Erika and Jorge have been married since 2007 and have a dog and two cats. Erika has been part of the Methodist Church of Mexico since she was born. She enjoys cooking and watching movies, and is anxious to meet the members of the congregation and to learn more about the Lancaster community.
Worship Time Changes to 10:00 as of July 7th
As part of Pastor Erika’s appointment, her ministry will include pulpit supply on Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. to the Potosi United Church of Christ. To accommodate the agreement the Wisconsin Conference has with Potosi UCC, as of July 7, 2024, the worship services at Lancaster UMC have changed to 10:00 a.m.
Coffee hour and fellowship time will continue to be held after Sunday morning worship. This will give Pastor Erika a chance to connect individually with members and visitors of our congregation.
We hope you will help Pastor Erika feel at home in Lancaster and welcome her and her husband to our wonderful community!
Many thanks to Pastor David Kim, who has served our congregation for the past 4 years. He has been called to serve the United Methodist Church in Kenosha. Our prayers go with him and his wife, Maria, as they move to a new home, new churches, and a different region of Wisconsin.
Congratulations Graduates!
Congratulations to all the area graduates! We are proud of all the students, from preschool through high school and college graduates! Always know that you have our prayers for God’s blessings and guidance as you go through your personal life journey.

175th Anniversary Celebration!
Sunday, September 17, 2023, was a day of celebration at the Lancaster United Methodist Church as members, friends, pastors and guests recognized the 175th Anniversary of the church! The worship service was led by Rev. David Kim, WI Conference Bishop Hee-Soo Jung, District Superintendent Amanda Stein, and pastors Bob McKelvey, Barbara Cook and Mark Weaver. Special music by the choir and guest musicians was wonderful!
“Remembering the Past and Embracing the Future,” a program of presentations by members followed the worship service. Pictures and exhibits were on display in the fellowship hall for visitors to enjoy. A slideshow featuring historic photos, mission projects, fund-raising dinners, building projects, ministry in the community, and the people of the church was presented during the dinner.
People had a great time looking at the photos and sharing stories. The organizing committee put in many hours of preparation for the event and those attending appreciated sharing in this important milestone.
